A suspect is dead after opening fire at the entrance of the annex of the border patrol sector in McAllen, Texas, on Monday morning, authorities said.
The suspect, identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda, 27, shot the Federal Building that houses the offices of the United States Border Patrol at the McAllen International Airport, said McAllen police chief, Victor Rodríguez, at a press conference. The suspect never arrived inside the building, but fired “many, many rounds in the building,” Rodríguez said.
A photo of the building’s door showed the damage of the bullets hitting the glass.

Mosqueda was reported as missing from a direction from Weslaco, Texas, at 4 in the morning, police said, added that they have no more details about the report of the missing person.
Mosqueda has a Michigan address and arrived in a car with Michigan labels, Rodríguez said. Rodríguez said his car had additional weapons and ammunition inside.
The city officials said that all flights at McAllen International Airport were delayed after the incident.
