17 years old, arrested by murder of Maine Paddleboarder reported missing earlier this month

A 17 -year -old was arrested for the alleged murder of Sunshine Stewart, a paddleboarder who was found dead after being reported as disappeared in Maine earlier this month.

The cause of Stewart’s death was the strangulation and trauma of the forceful force, Maine State Police revealed Thursday. The 48 -year -old woman was found dead on July 3 at Crawford Pond in Union, a place of popular recreation near the camp where she stayed.

The suspect, who is a man, was arrested without incident on Wednesday night, police said. He is from Maine and came to the pond area to spend the vacation time with his family, according to an official familiar with the investigation.

The suspect, who has not been appointed by the Police, was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in Southern Portland, according to Maine State Police.

The chef’s forensic doctor in Augusta determined that the shape of death was a homicide.

The condition of the body when it was found indicated that death was not a suicide or accidental drowning, authorities said.

The tragedy had left the residents of a small community of frightened point.

Stewart rented a camp at MAC Mac Family Campground for the summer season on May 1. He had only stayed on the land for two or three nights before his disappearance on July 2. The camp owner said he has provided video hours to the authorities in case it may be useful.

Sunshine “Sunny” Stewart was found dead after he went to row in a lake in Maine, and his death has been governed as a homicide, authorities said.
